Motion Atlas exists because “make it smooth” is not enough. Designers, builders, and AI-assisted workflows need vocabulary, examples, constraints, and implementation cautions.
It belongs to the NicheWorks atlas line alongside UI Atlas and Vibe Lexicon.
What it is
Motion Atlas is a dictionary-like production tool for UI motion patterns. It shows live demos, explains intent, lists bad and better AI requests, provides copyable prompts, and compares similar patterns.
What it is not
It is not a medical tool, not an accessibility audit, not a browser compatibility guarantee, and not a full code library. The examples are starting points for judgment and implementation review.
How it differs from UI Atlas and Vibe Lexicon
UI Atlas explains interface patterns. Vibe Lexicon explains taste and visual language. Motion Atlas explains how UI elements move, why the movement helps, and when it becomes harmful.
Accessibility stance
Motion can help users understand state, location, and feedback, but it can also distract or harm. Every pattern should include a reduced-motion fallback and avoid unnecessary looping.
