What this tool does

Pattern Atlas is a tool for exploring world patterns, reading their meaning and context, editing colors, and exporting SVG, PNG, and CSS assets.

Basic flow

  1. Search or filter patterns.
  2. Review meaning, region, use cases, and caution notes.
  3. Edit colors and preview tiles or use cases.
  4. Export as SVG, PNG, or CSS.

Export formats

SVG is a vector format suited for scalable graphics.

PNG is a general image format suited for web pages and documents.

CSS is for using the pattern as a web background.

Cultural context

Some patterns may be inspired by traditional, regional, ethnic, or religious motifs. Exports are modern reconstructions, not official historical reproductions or cultural certification assets. Check context notes before commercial or public use.

Local storage

The MVP may save lightweight preferences such as language or favorites in your browser. It is designed as a client-side static tool and should not send personal data to a server.

FAQ

Can I freely use exported assets?
It depends on the pattern and context. Review each pattern's caution notes.

Are these historically exact reproductions?
No. Treat them as modern reconstructions inspired by pattern traditions.

Are inputs sent to a server?
The MVP is planned as a client-side static tool.
